Horse Rescue Australia Inc. is a non-profit organisation and registered charity devoted to the care and rehabilitation of horses that have suffered abuse, abandonment or neglect.

The organisation is run by a small, dedicated volunteer committee, one of whom is resident manager. Horse Rescue Australia receives no government assistance at all which means running of the sanctuary and ensuring the good health and wellbeing of the horses is funded solely through generous donations, sponsorships, memberships and fundraising events

Melbourne Cup Appeal

Whilst the famous week-long Melbourne Cup carnival is celebrated, Horse Rescue Australia invites you to contribute to a compassionate alternative to placing a bet.

Since 1986 we have helped rescue many former racehorses who, for a myriad of reasons, have faced an uncertain future.

Welcome to Rosie and Minnie

Rosie and Minnie came to us from Cobbity. Rosie was in very poor condition and has commenced daily medication for Cushings disease which will hopefully help her to start looking and feeling better. Minnie’s feet were very overgrown and have been tended to by the farrier. She’s also been put on a diet which she’s not going to be happy about.

Both ponies are available for sponsorship, pending assessment for adoption.
